Kana Foundation School opens for Student registration at its new location, the Institute of Education, University of London on Sunday January 8th 2006.

Courses in SATS, Selection Tests, GCSE and A Levels commence Sunday 12th February 2006.

The School is unique, for several reasons:
- An African/Caribbean Parents group meets simultaneously. The education of the child is a tripartite adventure involving parent- child and teacher.

- The Kana Method sees education as a holistic activity seeking to develop the mind, body and spirit of the child to the highest level.

KFS takes place on a Sunday 10.30am-1.30pm.

KFS seeks to educate African/Caribbean children in general -and African-Caribbean boys in particular- to excel.

Subjects taught:
English, Maths, French, Science, African and Caribbean History and Self-Development.
Mentoring is an integral part of the school.

KFS' location within this prestigious University in Russell Square is itself highly symbolic. Says KFS Principal and Education Consultant Angie Brooks:

'As we welcome KFS Students to this centre of excellence we are saying to them:
-you too belong in such institutions; study well and you will empower yourself to realise all your dreams.'

KFS was established in 1997 as the Mosiah Foundation School at the again symbolic Marcus (Mosiah) Garvey Library, Tottenham with the full support of the late Tottenham MP Bernie Grant.

In 1999 Hackney MP Diane Abbott supported the launch of the Sankofa School, the Educational Research Project run by KFS in Tottenham as a full time African-Caribbean School developing a curriculum, conducive to the intellectual, physical and spiritual needs of African/Caribbean children.

Within a year, the school had attracted media interest. As 3 year olds read fluently and 5 year olds achieved results in English and Maths of which 12 and 13 year olds would be proud, Sankofa School was heralded as 'the flagship for the education of African and Caribbean children in the UK'.
