Rebecca Gordan Rebecca Gordon is the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Philip. She has three sisters and is the mother of four children - Taweisha, Joel, Rachel and Latifah. From an early age, Rebecca has had a love and thirst for language and literature that has developed throughout her life.

Her first job, as a Library Assistant at Birmingham Central Library, enabled her to proceed with satisfying this thirst. Thereafter, she gained valuable experiences in her roles in other organisations. This assisted her enhancement and progression in Administration, Market Research, Customer Services and Tutoring. Having worked as a Team Manager at two corporate companies, Rebecca led her teams to success and assisted individuals with their individual and group progress.

Conscious Equation was established as a culmination of this and a major life changing experience that reinforced Rebecca's desire to 'give back' to the community. This wish was further reinforced whilst on a trip to Africa in 2003, that intensified her passion to live her dream. This dream has now been fulfilled by the establishment of a bookshop in which Rebecca's children have a large input.

Conscious Equation BookshopConscious Equation's aim is to promote the awareness, accessibility, and possession of books that contribute to cultural, educational andspiritual development, with a view to assisting people with getting through what for many can be a difficult life.

Some of the initiatives offered by Conscious Equation include book parties, story telling for children, a reading club and a book swap service. Having been a phenomenal success, poetry evenings now take place on a monthly basis.

These initiatives are unique services that engage people from the local and wider community and contribute to the advancement of an individual, a community, and a nation.

Within 6 weeks of opening, Conscious Equation has supplied books to numerous individuals and libraries. With the implementation of current and future projects, Conscious Equation is achieving it's objective of facilitating many to "Gain Knowledge to Empower, for the Power to Advance".
